	According to the revised Fisheries Law Cap. 170 of 1990, the Fisheries Regulations of 1990, Regulation 12, special licences must be obtained for those interested in angling in dams from: the Head Office of Fisheries Department and Marine Research in Lefkosia or from the District Offices of Fisheries Department. Licences are personal and are issued to persons over 12 years old. The fee is C£10,00 for each reservoir separately and C£20,00 for all reservoirs. All licences issued, expire by the end of each year. Also group licences are issued to organised groups after application of the representative of the interested group. This licence is valid for not more than 15 days and the fee is C£5,00 per person. The Fisheries Department and Marine Research sells, at C£2,00 each, a booklet in English with coloured pictures of all fish found in the reservoirs and useful information to the anglers.

Baths of Aphrodite

A romantic side trip from Paphos is a visit to the natural grotto on the Akamas Peninsula near Polis (30 miles/48km north of Pahpos) where legend has it that the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, used to take her baths. The serene pool, shaded by a fig tree and surrounded by beautiful examples of maindenhair fern, can be reached by nature trails from Akamas.

Tourism revenues up

CYPRUS' revenues from tourism from January to July grew four per cent year-on-year to £564 million, the statistics department said yesterday.

In July 2007, revenues from tourism hit £168.1 million and were 8.5 per cent above July 2006 figures.
